Let's Liberate Love!

Don't confuse ethical non-monogamy with polygamy; the latter is an institution and isn't always ethical. Also, it's not just an excuse for careless promiscuity.

Ethical non-monogamy is more than a lifestyle; it's a life philosophy

that involves ongoing learning and active work on oneself and one's relationships. It might not be for everyone, but we believe it's important that everyone gets to choose their own path. However, choice only comes with awareness. People need to be informed and supportive communities need to be built. That's what we focus on at Nonmono.

Ethical Non-Monogamy? What is it all about?

Did you know that Franklin Roosevelt, the President of the United States, was in a polyamorous relationship? Or that Erwin Schrodinger, a Nobel laureate physicist, didn't just have theories about a cat but also lived openly with three people? And it's not just them. Admiral Nelson, Carl Jung the psychoanalyst, Karl Barth, a leading Christian theologian of the 20th century, and Alfred Kinsey, a pioneer in modern sexology, all practiced what we now call ethical nonmonogamy.

Ethical nonmonogamy covers all types of romantic and sexual relationships involving more than two people, with the explicit consent of everyone involved. It ranges from open relationships and swinging, to polyamory and relationship anarchy. At Nonmono, we support all these forms.
